A couple days ago, it was announced Chynna Clugston Flores had done a Li’l Depressed Boy cover… love her work, obviously a little connected to LDB, so in the spirit of Sina’s recent “LDB as Spawn” post… Little LDB tries to woo a young Bleu with one of the few 7″s even SHE can resist…

No – my job was not so bad I’d call it “Blood From A Stone…” – but that is my favourite track from Giorgio Moroder’s rework of Metropolis…

So – yeah – just left my job after 5½ years to go to a smaller firm, doing design I suspect will be a little more “up my alley” – and without so much overhead causing churn and unfocused Design… I’m excited (and nervous, obviously)… but think this will be a good fit. It also means I’ve had a bit of renewed energy, and therefore (finally) a new “What Can’t Be Erased” – hoping more to come soon.

Coupon Beaver

I get some odd gigs, if only due to the amount of time I’ve been working as an illustrator… this was a rough sketch for a proposed site called “Coupon Beaver” that (apparently) never came to be. Somewhere there is a sketch of the beaver surfing on a mouse (computer kind, not other small fuzzy mammal kind)… but, as that is one of the more “design by committee” ideas I’ve had to deal with – it won’t be seeing the light of day.

The cute Coupon Beaver himself? He can show his face with some dignity intact…

I sometimes forget that most people who know my work DON’T know I have a regular gig drawing spot illustrations for Trot magazine (biggest harness racing magazine in Canada). A strange gig, and one that keeps me on my toes, but one that I really enjoy for the variety of curve balls it throws at me regularly.
